The GM Authority Take
The Envision is perfectly positioned to be a best-seller in the premium compact front-drive crossover segment, where it competes very favorably against the likes of the Lexus NX, Lincoln MKC and Acura RDX. However, it would appear that the Envision’s overall sales potential is limited as a result of the vehicle being assembled at a factory (in China) that appears to be running at capacity.
As such, we believe that Buick can sell more units of the Envision but won’t be able to do so in the near future, since any additional sales volume would require expanding the assembly volume of the Shanghai-GM plant where the Envision is currently built for all markets where it is sold or by allocating production capacity at a plant within the GM North America operations, where the vehicle would potentially be assembled for the North American market.

Comments
when it is built in a North American plant then it will be considered . again GM missing the boat buy not having assembled in AMERICA –Envision & Enspire ( if it comes to life) is what Buick needs to increase sales . years ago GM was first followed by the competitor now it the other around and their playing catchup .
Highly unlikely production will come to NA, let alone the USA. Why? SAIC is essentially running Buick and they would prefer to keep the factory in China humming at full capacity. Buick is a China first brand! Cadillac heading that way also, damn shame!
Dollar stores are full of junk from China. What is the steel like? What is the engine, transmission and other major components long term life? No as long as this vehicle is built in China……….NO THANK YOU. China for years has been producing low cost, low end, and short lived products, not my vehicle. The USA and the Canadian government saved GM corporation nearly went broke, where was China? Support North America now , and keep our workers employed.
