In the world of drag racing, there’s no shortage of horrifying crashes. Yet as many as we’ve seen over the years, there are nevertheless still accidents that leave us utterly shocked – accidents like the one above, which involved a 4,000-horsepower, twin-turbo Chevrolet Corvette C7 dragster.
Daniel Pharris, the owner of the Corvette, puts the act of drag racing high-performance machines into perspective: “These things aren’t like driving Miss Daisy to the grocery store—more like riding a bull. You have to be prepared for anything with 4,000-plus horsepower.” That said, even the most experienced driver can lose control.
After a clean launch, it looks like Pharris is on his way to blazing the quarter-mile, but after about 60 feet the nose of the Corvette begins to lift – and then the entire vehicle takes flight. It’s an unnatural image, seeing a car lift clear off the ground, no matter how many times we see it. After a moment. the Corvette comes down hard, and skids to a halt. Fortunately, Pharris steps out of the vehicle and is able to walk away without any injuries.

Two words: aerodynamic aids
(and no that is not a bad disease that pilots get!)
Two other words: Wheelie bars
Preventing the front tires from lifting too high will allow the existing aero to work like it was supposed to.
4000HP and no wheelie bars is a recipe for disaster.
Its got a Hemi engine in it. Fake C7.
