2018 Buick Regal TourX Will Not Be Available In Canada

While Americans may rejoice over the fact a mass market station wagon is once again returning to the U.S., Canadians may be disappointed to know the Regal TourX will be forbidden fruit.

GM Authority has learned the Regal TourX will not make its way north of the border and will remain exclusive to the United States. A strange happening, since the TourX seems like a very Canadian-friendly vehicle.

The Regal TourX will target those looking for an alternative to a crossover vehicle and represents the latest piece of “white space” for the brand to cover. Specifically, the 2018 Regal TourX will arrive with standard 2.0-liter LTG turbocharged 4-cylinder engine paired with an all-wheel drive system.

Don’t fret too much, Canada. The 2018 Buick Regal Sportback will still be yours for the owning, and the hotter 2018 Regal GS is all but confirmed to be available in America’s hat.

  1. That sucks, eh? More snow and ice up north, but don’t give them an AWD wagon.

The GM gods must be crazy. Stop drinking the Kool Aid.

  2. Sucks to be them lol. But again they have the Orlando and we don’t so?? Feeling balanced there Canada? And the fact that their CR-V are more premium than the ones at our shore?

    1. Mercedes B-Class “tourers” are absolutely everywhere where I live. And a god number of E-class wagons, among other brands. This is GMs loss.

  3. It’s reasons like that I have made up my mind to return my lease in early and to purchase a manufacturer that will provide me with a vehicle I want. I will also phone on star to cancel that service too.

    2. You can’t have everything in life all of the time. Although life isn’t a bowl of cherries, you don’t want always want to find yourself in the pits, either. I understand that, but “don’t cut off your nose to spite your face”, as the saying goes.

If your current GM vehicle is good enough to put your hard-earned money into, don’t damn GM because you have a case of “sour grapes” over this. There will be other vehicles coming Canada’s way. “Be patient, young grasshopper”.

  4. TourX represents exactly what Buick needs to be–American Saab/Volvo/Audi: All at a fair price.
The only good Buick products come via Opel. Instead of selling, Opel should have been made responsible for Buick. Had this occurred maybe Lacrosse and Envision wouldn’t be ugly.

  5. That’s unfair – the Canadians need to be punished like us too. I’m all for a wagon being sold here, but it needs to be one people will actually buy. I give the TourX maybe 2 model years, then it’ll be dead. Make a CTS-V wagon again – I’d take one any day of the week. Keep the TourX garbage in Europe.

  6. I would say if they don’t want to sell it here than keep it …there is lots to choose from any way….

  7. Any reason given for this?

Not offering the Tour-X in Canada is uncomprehensible to me.

  9. I haven’t bought a North American vehicle since the muscle car era, but once I saw a photo of the Tour X l was hooked……until the bad news. My guess is that GM doesn’t want the Tour X to cut into its high profit SUV sales.
Good luck GM on trying to sell your Malibu twin, I’ll be purchasing my wagon at the Subaru or Volkwagon dealership.

  12. GM has made a bad choice. A Euro yet beefy AWD vehicle would do well in Canada. A sexy looking wagon, something we never see, makes for a sort of white space halo, too.
Due to Opel sale there will be no Regal or TourX Avenir which is a pity given that a premium hatch sedan and wagon will each get attention.
These trims should come from China since no economic case can be made for domestic production–unlike Envision. GM would be wise to produce crossovers here while importing the limping sedans.

  16. This is so dumb. I guess we will be looking at Mercedes C wagon since even Audi dropped the wagon now. This is maddening.

  18. As most (all?) Provinces require winter tires, winter wheel and tire packages seem to be non existent. Was looking at a Tourx myself, went to Tire Rack and what do you know….nothing is available.

  19. Hey there! Quick question that’s entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My website looks weird when browsing from my iphone 4. I’m trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to fix this issue. If you have any recommendations, please share. Cheers!
