1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Packs One Heck Of An Engine: Video

Plenty of enthusiasts have snapped up a Chevrolet Bel Air over the years and had their way with them. But this one is probably unlike any you’ve seen before.
On the outside, it looks as if some slight modifications have been done, but under the hood sits an all aluminum, 730 ci, Hemi-headed V12 engine. Yes, 12 cylinders, not the typical 350 ci V8 from Chevrolet. The owner says the engine comes from an Italy company, of all places, and it does the Bel Air some good, that’s for sure.
Popping the hood shows the mammoth mill taking up nearly all available space in the engine bay, but the owner has gone through measures to ensure it looks right at home. That includes finishing it all in the same exterior hue for a proper retro-mod look. In fact, the entire front end lifts forward to really get a good look at the V12 engine sitting underneath.
And it sounds mean. Really mean. Have a look at the video right up above.

I’ve owned three ’55 Chevrolets (1 Nomad and 2 Bel Air Coupes), all of course with V8 motors,
but nothing like this V12 cylinder jewel.
What I really like about it, is the overall conservative exterior look.
In my opinion, too many street rods are ruined by excessive mods.
The motor is absolutely gorgeous! I have a feeling Jay likes this one.
