This 1500-Lb Emergency Van With A Mid-Engine LS1-Swap Is Bananas: Video

No one knows how to put on a smoky show like the Aussies do; there’s a mountain of video evidence that can attest to that.
Case in point: this Australian-built, retired emergency van with Chevrolet LS1 mounted mid-ship. With the van’s weight being around 1,500 pounds, the 300-horsepower 5.7-liter V8 packs more than enough punch to roast the tires on this thing.
Our favorite part, though? The clouds of red and blue smoke generated by this mean little emergency machine’s rear tires. It’s a perfect match for the red and blue emergency lights still perched atop its roof.
This LS1-packing emergency van rather reminds us of the LS-powered VW bus we saw recently, although that thoroughly mental machine was used as a daily driver by an equally mental motorist, whereas this van’s sole purpose is to incinerate tires and put on a show at Australia’s Summernats.
