The Opel Astra has done good things for the brand and the company even stated the vehicle is a major component for its return to profitability. Despite missing the profitability goal in 2016, the Astra continues to remain successful as PSA Groupe takes over ownership of the German brand from General Motors.
And there’s even better news for owners. Bähr & Fess has forecasted excellent residual values for the Astra K, with a depreciation of only 41.5 percent after three years (60,000 kilometers, or 37,282 miles). That figure places it ahead of the Volkswagen Golf, which is expected to depreciate 43.5 percent, and Ford Focus, which is forecasted to depreciate 52 percent.
Since its introduction in 2015, Opel has moved 400,000 units of Astra K.
