Martin Truex Jr. won the Kobalt 400 from Las Vegas Motor Speedway Sunday after passing pole sitter Brad Keselowski on the penultimate lap.
Truex Jr. led 150 of 267 laps and won all three of the race’s 80-lap stages to claim the win. Race favorite Kevin Harvick, often a dominate driver at NASCAR’s west coast tracks, hit the wall at Turn 1 and retired on Lap 68 after his right front tire blew.
The pass for the win came after the final restart, with Truex going low on Keselowski as the Team Penske Ford driver began to fade. Keselowski turned up fifth overall and also let Chevrolet’s Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott past, who finished second and third, respectively.
The 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series’ season will continue with the Good Sam 500 on Sunday, March 19 from Phoenix International Raceway. Click here for full results from Las Vegas and here for a full schedule of next weekend’s NASCAR festivities.
