Holden Comes Out As Official Sponsor Of Australian LGBT+ Mardi Gras Parade

Holden has announced it will be supporting a major cause in Australia ahead of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. The GM subsidiary has partnered with the LGBT+ Mardi Gras parade and become an official sponsor of the organization’s pursuit of marriage equality in the country.

The brand will supply a motorcade of Holden vehicles decked out in rainbow wrap to carry the parade’s ambassadors, including Steve Grand, Bob Down and Cindy Pastel through Sydney, Australia’s streets.

Holden reiterated its support for equality and diversity, knowing the company itself comes from all walks of life.

“We’re so excited to show our support as the automotive partner of this year’s Mardi Gras. At Holden, we believe in equal rights for all and to be in solidarity with a community our employees are already a part of means a lot,” Ashley Winnett, Executive Director of Human Resources at Holden, said.

“In the last year we’ve made some huge steps in the equality and diversity space and not just in our support of LGBT+ campaigns like Mardi Gras, Midsumma Carnival, Fair Day and marriage equality.”

The parade will take place on March 4, 2017, and you can catch all the happenings involving Holden on its various social media channels.

  1. Good on ’em, true blue mate. Goes well with the US presidential limo “not being ready” so as to avoid all those pictures and videos of Trump in Caddy-1 embarrassing GM for a century.

Then I remembered the article about GM trying to get autonomous car research by non-car companies banned by a court, (banning research is literally forced thought-crime) and then I remembered they have a marketing dept.

  2. Shame on Holden for supporting this perversion. Homo marriage is NOT real marriage, these fools need to repent & turn to Christ before it’s too late.

    1. Marriage is a legal document set before two people as administered by the state.

Weddings are the celebration by those getting married, of which may or may not have a religious aspect.

None of this has anything to do with your religion.

    2. Way to show some compassion Sil…and what a perfect way to get people on board with Jesus. Not! Grow up.

I’m ACTUALLY showing compassion by warning them & telling them the Truth (or at least saying the truth, I’m not sure they’ll read my comment). I’ts better than patting them on the back as I tell them “You’re ok just the way you are” as they go straight to hell.

        1. 1 Peter 3:15: “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

I don’t see where you gave a reason for the hope you have in Christ. No mention of the love that God has for His fallen creation. I did not see any gentleness or respect in your comments.

The fire and brimstone approach to conversion has been proven to be a detriment to Christianity. I’m not saying to say they’re ok they way they are, but no one is successful at persuasion by starting the conversation by offending the other. For us who are Christian, our purpose is to spread the Gospel. That is much better accomplished with love than with anger. Your comment comes across as anger.

    3. While we’re worshipping Leviticus, let’s get ALL OF IT done, not just the one bit (out of 76) that you cherry-picked…

Worshipping Leviticus is wrong because that’s a false god, so start right there
No bread, because yeast burns in it
Salt in everything (including every coffee you drink)
No meat fat. Hours of careful cutting or you’re a sinner. With gloves on
Government installs microphones in your house, so you can testify to EVERYTHING!
No pets that poop (remember the pet rock thing in the 80’s? Yep, marketed by a religious family firm)
OMG no more. If your daughter said that as a 4yo in Pre-K without knowing it was a sin, oh well…
Ever told your neighbor you can’t talk right now because you have to leave the house, but really you’re sick of their whine?
Did you pick up that $20 off the street?
Sparked a bic near a church?
Drunk the holy (alcoholic) water? Look it up in the big L’s book. It’s a sin to drink alcohol in Church…
Ever eaten game such as rabbit, or bacon or ham?
Ever put that bacon in the pan without gloves on?
Has a mother gone to the christening before 33 days after her first thingy after the birth of a boy. Technical, this one
Has your bank been a day late with your companies wages?
Have you ever worn a leather jacket with a lovely linen lining sewn in with cotton thread?
Etc etc etc etc etc etc etc

Because each of these sins is just as bad as being sexually different and still never harming anyone ever.

Yeah, I’m not a Jew I’m a Christian, you have to interpret properly.

Leviticus Old Testament laws, apply to Jews & more likely to Jews of that time.

The new Testament is what applies to Christians & to people of all time.

        Nice try cherry picking though.

  3. Who plans on attending the Heterosexual Pride Parade?

    Reply
    1. What you mean “the HPP”? There’s literally thousands every day, every time a woman parades down a church isle towards a man. Sexual minorities just want to parade in their own way with their own audience. You don’t need to watch every parade, or tell me to watch every parade. Doesn’t mean the parades aren’t happening every minute of every day for H’s.

      1. A marital church service is the same as parading down Main Street waving rainbow flags and dressed in drag? That’s a different take on it. Interesting.

        1. And the crowd in the street in front of the church before, and the confetti outside after, and the photos in the park where everyone has to vacate the park’s most beautiful public area so the wedding party can have it to themselves, and the reception in the biggest hotel with the bar booked out, with the band playing loud, and the FB uploads which get bcc’ d to literally everyone’s email for weeks afterwards, and all this in several places all over town every weekend, etc etc etc. Yeah, “not a public parade”

          1. I’ve never been to a wedding ceremony that was open to the public. How many have you been to that have operated like this? Also interesting. In order to have a wedding like this, you’d also have to be in possession of unlimited financial funds to provide enough food and drinks, since you never know how many people will show up.
