Chevrolet joined forces to bring some of the most advanced film technology to life. With Epic Games and The Mill, the bowtie brand premiered “The Human Race” at the 2017 Game Developers Conference, highlighting what The Mill’s bespoke tracking rig, The Mill Blackbird, can do when paired to Unreal Engine.
The film itself was shot entirely in real time, thanks to the Blackbird, which allows for nearly any vehicles to be placed in scene. That means everything you see is entirely digitalized to perfection and done without much need for post production since it was all done on the spot. Unreal Engine, the Mill’s tracking system and other technology meant no need for days of CG rendering.
It’s truly remarkable stuff, as you’ll see in the behind-the-scenes video above, where the Mill Blackbird is flipped into nearly every Chevrolet model as part of a demonstration of how the rig works. And you can watch the star of the film, a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, be flipped through nearly every factory color while the film is playing. Film production on the fly. Now that’s something.

That was pretty neat, but I`d rather see GM correct some of there ongoing problems, trans shutter, torque converter, overheating Z06, etc.
