GMC Canyon Sales Climb 22 Percent To 2,978 Units In February 2017

GMC Canyon deliveries in the United States totaled 2,978 units in February 2017, an increase of 22 percent compared to 2,440 units sold in February 2016. In the first two months of 2017, sales of the mid-size pickup truck have increased 7 percent to 5,037 units.

In Canada, Canyon sales increased 6.6 percent to 308 units in February 2017. In the first two months of the year, sales totaled 551 units in Canada, a decrease of 4.3 percent compared to the first two months of 2016.

  1. At one time, the conventional wisdom was that there was no market for small to medium sized pickups anymore. The Colorado/Canyon have proven that axiom to be untrue. The problem with the segment was that there were no fresh or compelling products so, therefore, there were no buyers.

    I think the same holds true for the naysayers within GM who believe there is no market for large, luxury sedans anymore. They simply need to build something compelling that reinvigorates the category.
