General Motors delivered a cumulative 308,624 vehicles in Mexico during 2016, the highest-ever sales volume for the automaker in the country. The results represent an increase of 20.5 percent or 52,474 units compared to 2015 for a market share of 18.8 percent.
Each of GM’s four brands also had a record year:
- Chevrolet sales increased 20.7 percent
- Cadillac sales increased 2.1 percent
- Buick sales increased 16 percent
- GMC sales increased 18.1 percent
The performance enabled GM Mexico to close out the year by being the leader in four vehicle segments, including:
- Small cars
- Large pickup trucks
- Small SUVs
- Large SUVs
With 2016 in the books, GM Mexico “is ready for 2017 to be full of surprises for our clients”, (translated) stated Francisco Garza, Vice President of Sales, Service and Marketing at GM Mexico.
