GM CEO Mary Barra To Leave General Dynamics Board Of Directors

General Motors CEO Mary Barra will not seek re-election to General Dynamic’s board of directors this coming May, according to The Washington Business Journal.

Barra has held a seat on the board since 2011 and the company’s filings stated her departure “was not a result of any disagreement with the company.” The GM CEO informed the company this past Monday and nominated Catherine Reynolds, a philanthropist and chairman and CEO of Sterling-based student lending nonprofit EduCap Inc.

Over the past three years, Barra has served on the compensation and finance and benefits plan committees for the company, and her departure follows Marine Corps Gen. James Mattis’ resignation. Mattis would go on to be confirmed as the Secretary of Defense under the Trump administration.

Barra reportedly received compensation packages totaling $1.24 million through a mix of fees, stock and option awards and other benefits during her time on the board.

  2. She is turning things around for GM but it is not good to assemble more models outside of the USA no matter that GM is a global co. This is not keeping Americans working to build our AMERICA’S economy
