Get One While You Can: 2017 Chevrolet SS Receives 20 Percent Off MSRP Through March 13

If you missed the boat to place an individual order for a 2017 Chevrolet SS, there’s still time to make the pilgrimage to your local dealer and peruse inventory. And there’s no better time than now, ladies and gents.

Much like what we saw last summer, Chevrolet is offering 20 percent off of the 2017 Chevrolet SS again through March 13. That’s nearly $10,000 off the MSRP of the Australian thoroughbred turned Chevy.

With an MSRP of $49,915, Chevrolet is offering $8,201 in purchase cash back plus a $1,782 reduction in the MSRP for a grand total of $9,983 in savings. A $50,000 car quickly becomes a $40,000 or less with this generous incentive.

Potential owners were flustered last year after a stop-sale left many 2016 Chevrolet SS sedans in limbo on dealer lots just one day before the original 20 percent off MSRP sale expired last July. Customers must take delivery of the vehicle before the sale ends to qualify for the incentive. To our knowledge, dealers honored the incentives, despite being months since the sale ended and parts were available for the recall’s stop sale.

The 2017 SS is the final model year for the sport sedan, which has sold in low numbers since first being imported from GM’s Australian subsidiary, Holden. Holden will cease local manufacturing altogether this coming October.

  1. Get them while they last guys! I just missed the offer by 10 days but have no regrets. The car is sweet. The LS3 is amazing. The exhaust is out of this world. And since the offer came out yesterday these cars are disappearing of the dealer lots.

For $40K you can drive it for 2 years and then sell it for that if not more if you decide. Free ride for couple years.

    1. How do I get an Impala SS? I am a Canadian Chev Dealer. I have contacted Wilson Chevrolet in St. Augustine since I have a residence there. They are trying to get a car but no luck so far.

      1. Bob,

This isn’t an Impala SS, it’s a standalone model in Chevrolet’s lineup, simply called the Chevrolet SS, based on the Holden Commodore from Australia. It’s also not available in Canada, only the U.S. Hope that clears things up!

        1. You’re a dealer and you can’t tell the difference between the Chevrolet SS and the Chevrolet Impala SS? No surprise there. Keep making the whole process difficult, middleman.

        1. The Chevy SS is RWD and offers a true manual with clutch. Nothing fake about this performance sedan Chevyboy.

  2. This move by GM also made me thinking how really out of place this is. So early in the year. Most of the 3000 cars aren’t even here yet probably. It makes me think that there is something going on behind the scenes that we’re not aware of yet, maybe? People were scooping them up before this announcement.

It seems like they want to sell off as many as they can before some kind of news? Major change to Impala? New model/replacement? This move just doesn’t add up for me, but maybe I’m just too sensitive to the whole Commodore/SS issue.

    1. Yeah, makes me wonder too. I assumed given they blew out all the 16 stock early, they would keep these at full price given they could sell them for as long as they wanted. I mean, what’s the rush?

  3. I’ve been dreaming about owning this car since it came out. Last year during the 20% off sale I was heartbroken because I wasn’t financially ready to make the purchase; but I kept on saving anyway, having resolved myself to the fact I would have to pay the regular price sometime this year, if everything worked out right financially, never dreaming Chevrolet would offer another 20% off sale on a final production car such as the SS.

I’m a car nut and subscribe to many different Company newsletters and forums, and to my utter amazement, discovered this sale. This time, thanks be to our Lord’s Help, I was able to make the purchase yesterday and I couldn’t be happier-despite the fact it has the sunroof and spare tire I didn’t want-but I’m learning that most of the SS’ available now in my area have at least one of them, so it’s alright. I hope there are other enthusiasts out there that can take advantage of this short-time sale because it really is a good price.

  4. I too, was wondering why Chevrolet offered this sale again. What I can say is that the Dealership I went to is huge, and the Manager I was working with told me the Owner has enormous pull and has 50 SS’ en route because he knows the final demand is going to drive the price up. I can’t say I actually believe he’s got 50 on the way because that’s a HUGE number of limited production cars for one Dealer; but if it’s semi-true, it would seem like GM isn’t going to replace the SS with something else any time soon; and if they do, I envision it being along the lines of the new Kia Stinger in the form of a Buick maybe, but smaller than the SS, and definitely without a roaring V8 under the hood. Cadillac has the Spots Sedans but they’re outrageously expensive and any SS replacement won’t come from them. Then of course there’s the on again/off again sale of Opel to Peugeot and who knows how that will affect Buick going forward; but I for one wouldn’t buy ANYTHING made by Peugeot and imported here. Bottom line for me was to take advantage of the sale and get the car I’ve been dreaming about for years, rather than speculate about what GM may or may not do and when. Besides, at this price, like Greg said above, you can drive the SS for a few years and still get most of your investment back and put it towards anything new GM comes out with. Just some thoughts from no one special….

  5. There just moving cars that are overpriced to start with. GM is coming out with impala ss and it will replace the ss in 2019 that’s what’s been rumored past year it will be a two door six speed if waned
