General Motors Skipping New York Auto Show Press Conference

General Motors is leaving the spotlight to many other automakers on the show floor at the 2017 New York International Auto Show. The official press schedule has been released, which details the time and location for each automaker. No GM brands are listed.

However, on the eve of the New York Auto Show, Buick will pull the wraps off of the 2018 Buick Enclave, marking its major introduction at the show. Prior to that, the brand will also unveil the 2018 Buick Regal at a separate event in Michigan on April 4, 2017. Presumably, both of these new vehicles will be at the New York show, but GM isn’t getting up close and personal with the press at the show itself.

Cross-town rival Ford also seems to be skipping an actual press conference at in New York, too, while Fiat-Chrysler will hold a Jeep conference during the first day to share the latest news surrounding the brand.

As for Buick, the 2018 Enclave will mimic the size of the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse, but usher in the latest in Buick design. The 2018 Buick Regal is expected to swap badges with the 2017 Opel Insignia Grand Sport, but also introduce a TourX variant, aka, a Buick Regal wagon.

  1. It the illustrations are anywhere correct on new Buick Enclave’s look; I would not do a press conference for it either!

      1. With that being said I do think it is time for another teaser image.
