Four GM Vehicles Make Best Three-Row List Of 2017

General Motors brought the goods to Consumer Reports‘ Best Three-Row Vehicles of 2017 list. SUVs and crossovers from Chevrolet, Buick and GMC made the final tally, with scores weighed exclusively on access to the third row of seats.

It’s an often overlooked part of a large vehicle, especially with little ones using the furthest of rows away from the driver. Not to mention, storage is always a valuable part of third-row vehicles, too.

Out of the 14 models listed by CR, General Motors took four spots with the Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon XL, Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse. The Tahoe and Yukon faired very well, thanks to its large proportions in general, but the Traverse and Enclave still found love for ease of use.

The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will improve upon its third-row ergonomics, too. The second row in the Traverse will feature Smart Slide for the second row, allowing passengers to climb into the third row even easier. We might see similar improvements to the 2018 Buick Enclave, which will share the new Traverse’s architecture.

The GMC Acadia did not make the list after moving to a midsize crossover layout but does offer a third row of seating. However, its maneuverability doesn’t compare to its full-size brethren.
