Custody Battle Over High-Value 1958 Corvette Follows Passing Of Owner

A California judge will decide the fate of a 1958 C1 Corvette after the owner, 75-year-old George Bristol, passed away following a car accident on December 14, 2016.

Currently, according to The Daily Republic, the 1958 Corvette is in the possession of Laura Hazelett, who was George Bristol’s significant other at the time of his passing. However, Jarod Bristol, an administrator of the estate, has filed a lawsuit against Hazelett. He claims she forged George Bristol’s signature on forms filed in January of 2017, which state she was given the car two days prior to his death.

The lawsuit is asking the DMV to not transfer the ownership of the Corvette while the estate is in probate.

Other than those nuggets of information, nothing else is known at the time. Neither party has responded for comment. But, the Corvette will have its fate decided this June as the lawsuit heads to trial.
