Chevrolet has been betting big on Latin America, even as it treads carefully through Brazil with further investments. However, the brand’s work may be paying off it seems.
The Chevrolet Onix claimed the best-selling car title for all of Latin America during 2016 with 173,800 units sold throughout last year. Sales of the Onix were also up 26.6 percent over 2015, with the Chevy putting 50,000 units between itself and the runner-up as the best selling car.
The Latin American market is comprised of 18 countries, including Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. Onix has been incredibly successful in penetrating the Latin American market following Chevrolet’s move to load the vehicle up with OnStar, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a MyLink infotainment system; the Onix is the only vehicle in its segment to offer a full suite of connectivity features.
The Onix will continue to spread out across the region as the nameplate will soon move into Peru.

I keep waiting for GM to develop a ONE Chevrolet scene a la Ford.
We know that manufacturers adjust price depending on national GDP and that scale mitigates fluctuation in sale price.
Once Chevrolet shifts to kits It’s bet Boujan will be rebadged in developing markets.
