Cadillac Qualifies 6th, 9th For St. Petersburg Race 1

Cadillac Racing has qualified 6th and 9th for Race 1 of the Pirelli World Challenge season opener at St. Petersburg.

Johnny O’Connell set a fastest lap of 1:14 2.86 in the No. 3 ATS-V.R, with teammate Michael Cooper turning in a time of 1:14.621. Cooper and O’Connell were split by Bob Stallings Racing’s Jon Fogarty in seventh (1:14.316) and CRP Racing’s Ryan Dalziel in eighth (1:14.350).

Pole position was set by TRX Racing’s Daniel Mancinelli in his Ferrari 488 GT3 with a blistering lap of 1:13.953. Second was claimed by Magnus Racing’s Pierre Kaffer in his Audi R8 LMS, with reigning GT class champion Alvaro Parente’s roudning out the podium. Kaffer and Parente set an identical time of 1:13.990.

Race 1 of this weekend’s PWC GT class double header will get underway on Saturday at 9:35 a.m. ET. A live stream of the race is available through World-Challengetv.com. Qualifying for Race 2 will be set based on each racer’s fastest lap in Race 1.
