Chalk another one up for Buick, because the brand has once again claimed its top spot on the J.D. Power Customer Service Index Study. Buick has held the position on the index for three of the past four years as the top mass-market brand regarding customer service with a score of 860 out of a possible 1,000 points.
The brand rubs shoulders with the German giants and Lexus with its high ranking, though, those luxury brands are ranked on a separate list. Lexus claimed the top spot overall with a score of 874.
Not only did Buick do well with customer service, but also in the overall Vehicle Dependability Study as well, surpassing Mercedes-Benz, Honda and BMW.
The brand recently became the first American brand to place in Consumer Reports‘ top three reliability ratings last year, marking a substantial win for Buick and it continues to push boundaries and redefine itself here in North America.

Tops in customer service, tops in reliability and nice looking products and yet they still have problems selling. What are they doing wrong?
Does anyone besides Lexus, BMW and Benz do any volume in the “luxury” segment?
Buick outsells Lincoln, Acura, Infinity, Genesis. Granted, Buick is only premium but it’s hard to compare the brand to Honda.
We will never see a brand with elevated ATP achieve volume in the US.
Any brand can outsell Buick if the cars are cheap, fall apart, and produce repeated sales. Just like toilet papaer!
This must really puzzle GM to have Buick rating as high as it is over Cadillac. What are they doing right with Buick to get it so wrong for Cadillac?
GM marketing stinks– how about bringing out the outstanding aspects of the models –standard features-safety features- engines – excellent -mileage- J.D. Powers standings – fun to drive– special aps.– no they talk about birds in the apartment-, saying that’s not a Buick .. come on GM needs better marketing . also the consumer doesn’t want BUICKS made in other countries , BUICK is a AMERICAN car.
“also the consumer doesn’t want BUICKS made in other countries , BUICK is a AMERICAN car”
The consumer wants BMW’s and Mercedes and they don’t care what country they come from, like America for instance. BMW and Mercedes are German cars.
It cuts both ways.
China has got ther hands on GM so there quality stinks.
