Buick U.S. Sales Up 3.4 Percent To 164,095 Units In February 2017

Sales of GM’s Buick brand decreased 9.4 percent in the United States and increased 55 percent in Canada in February 2017.

February 2017 Buick Sales – United States

In the United States, cumulative Buick sales decreased 9.4 percent to 16,131 units in February.

Retail sales increased 8.1 percent or 1,160 units to 15,480 units, representing 96 percent of total Buick sales for the month. That compares to 14,320 retail sales in February 2016, which represented 80.4 percent of total Buick sales. In fact, the performance represents Buick’s best February retail sales performance since 2004.

Fleet sales decreased 81.4 percent or 2,840 units to 651 units, representing 4 percent of total Buick sales for the month. That compares to 3,491 fleet sales in February 2016, which represented 19.6 percent of total Buick sales.

February 2017 Buick Sales – Canada

In Canada, cumulative Buick sales increased 55 percent to 1,171 units. The results include a 72 percent increase in retail sales, marking the brand’s best retail sales performance in Canada since 2002. In addition, the figures represent Buick’s best-ever sales performance of SUVs in Canada.

In the first two months of 2017, Buick sales in Canada have increased 48.28 percent to 2,113 units.

  1. Not being harsh, but the headline says sales were 164,000 units in Feb, an increase of 3.4%.

    But the US chart says 16,000+ sales in Feb, a decrease of 9.4%. And down 18.9% Jan-Feb.

    I must be missing something – does 164,000 include China? Is it year on year?

    I re-read the article to see if I missed something, but y’know, Friday brain.

  2. Really? So no response to the headline that reads Buick sold 164,000 units in February, when the chart data says 16,131?

    That’s over a 90% difference, unless we’re missing something – still curious how the math works. Thanks.
