The GM Authority Take

The Cascada has accounted for 8,097 deliveries since its U.S. launch in January 2016, thereby serving its purpose of filling “white space” for the brand. Whether there is a long-term future for the Cascada or a vehicle like it, however, is up in the air given GM’s sale of its European Opel-Vauxhall unit, which developed the vehicle and is responsible for its production in Poland.

  1. Good question – Cascada is an Opel-Vauxhall rebadge … So what happens there?

The Regal wagon and Verano hatchback … all Opel inspired. The big seller comes from South Korea. Interesting times. And the VP of Buick and GMC mktng has (apparently) left the building (?). Yes, interesting times indeed.

  2. We have a 2016 Cascada. We really like this car but what happens now with long-term support on parts? Our car is under warranty for six more years. Just hope any needed parts are available over that time (and beyond). I think I read that GM will continue to import the Cascada and other cars from Opel for at least the next few years.
