Borla Compares Its Exhaust Systems For 6.2L V8-Equipped GM Pickups: Video

No offense to owners of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Sierra equipped with the 5.3L L83 V8, but if you think those trucks sound good with an aftermarket exhaust setup, just wait until you hear this Borla exhaust comparison for those same trucks powered by the 6.2L L86 V8.

The model shown in the above video from Borla Exhaust is a Silverado 1500 LTZ 4×4 in Summit White. You’ll get to watch – and listen – as the truck revs, accelerates, and cruises with each of Borla’s three different exhaust kits for the L86: Touring, S-Type, and ATAK.

As usual, we have a particular liking for the most-aggressive ATAK system, as it gives the Silverado a rather throaty rumble. But were we to install one of these Borla kits on a daily driver, we’d probably go for the least-boisterous of the three: the Touring kit.

Borla’s exhaust systems aren’t quite the most affordable on the market, but as conventional wisdom says: you get what you pay for. Have a listen for yourself, then let us know if you think the quality warrants the price – or if you’re better off with a simple muffler delete – by dropping a comment in the designated section below.

  3. That’s what my 2010 Sierra Denali is missing!! A sweet Borla Exhaust system that screams as it is racing down the freeway and heads are turning to see who is passing them. Any of the 3 options would look and sound nice on my Summit White Sierra. Just not in my budget anytime soon!!?
