Buick has gone public with reveal dates for two, all-new products this year, but both have been captured testing ahead of their respective launches.
New photos show the 2018 Buick Regal and 2018 Buick Enclave testing as a pair with typical Michigan manufacturer plates. The shapes mimic what we’ve seen from 2018 Enclave and Regal prototypes, so there’s no denying these are Buicks. They were also seen with a 2017 Buick LaCrosse keeping them company.
The 2018 Buick Regal is expected to drop its four-door sedan layout for a five-door hatch orientation, making it a carbon copy of the 2017 Opel Insignia Grand Sport. Although not seen here, the 2018 Regal hatchback is expected to be joined by a wagon variant, also a copy of the 2017 Opel Insignia Sports Tourer.
The Enclave is shrouded in a bit more mystery, though, we can make some educated guesses. The 2018 Enclave will retain its full-size layout via the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse, but we expect the latest Buick design to grace the CUV, as seen in the teaser image provided by Buick.
Four-cylinder and V6 engines are likely candidates and we know for sure the all-new Enclave will be the first vehicle to receive the Avenir sub-brand treatment in North America.
The 2018 Buick Regal will be revealed on April 4, while the 2018 Buick Enclave will show face at an event ahead of the 2017 New York International Auto Show on April 11.

Looks like it’s using those 18s not a fan of that particular design.
I am looking forward to the official showing of the Enclave so I can start figuring out whether to purchase one or the other this Fall to replace my aging GMC Acadia, since I have no interest in the much smaller 2017 Acadia. Who knows, maybe by the Fall GM will let GMC get this long wheelbase version, but I suspect that will not happen
I hope Buicks version of the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer keeps the body’s sheetmetal and shape , actually just replace the grill and call it done .
I am fairly sure I have seen the new Buick Enclave on the road with all of it’s camo last week in Okemos , Mi. First time I have ever seen one of these vehicles on the road before with it all covered up . And other people on the road were watching it as it stuck out big time .
Those spy shots though couldn’t have been photographed in Michigan , we don’t have palm trees in our state !?!
GM is kind of caught in being out of sync product cycle wise with customer preferences. They have some very good sedans coming on line just as the public has switched to “it has to have a hatch” or no sale purchasing.
Fortunately, it looks like the Regal is indeed going to have a hatch. I’m hoping for a variant with the 3.0 TT V6 somewhere down the road.
Buick doesn’t seem that bad off to me – at least they have a full line of CUVs. Caddy somehow has four sedans, one CUV, and the Escalade.
I think David meant Cadillac. :p
Stop pouring money into sedans with or without a hatch. Keep the 3 CUV’s fresh like the refresh on the Encore. Envision is $2k overpriced but a god CUV.
Any new SUV’s’ should go to the GMC brand first. Accomplishes several things, no stigma like there is with Buick in the US and GMC has higher ATP’s I.e. Denali
