Now Is Your Chance To Own A Four-Door Corvette: eBay Find

There have been many similarities drawn as to what could potentially act as a four-door Corvette throughout Chevrolet’s history, including the Chevrolet SS performance sedan among others. However, there has never truly been a four-door Corvette.

Unless you count this 1979 C3 Corvette from California Custom Coach.

This four-door 1979 Corvette is one of six custom-built vehicles done by the California-based shop decades ago. Per the eBay listing, two C3 Corvettes were cut in half and fused together to create the extra set of doors and extend the vehicle by 30 inches overall. The rear trunk also opens in a hatchback fashion, something factory Corvettes would take to upon the 1982 model year.

The ad states identical vehicles have sold for upwards of $500,000, though, this particular example is for from mint. It carries a $65,000 asking price, and it could be yours if your heart desires four-door Corvette cruising.

  1. Isn’t that a Corvette America? I had a model kit of that back in the late 70s or early 80s.

  2. Why is it painted to look like rust when it’s made of fiberglass?

  3. So he references two cars sold/listex recently, but then he says this is the only one left??? Is he confused? I can see how having that car in your garage would cause a mild state of permanent confusion.

  4. The listing has been taken down. I wouldn’t offer $6,500 let alone 65k.
