The Lights Out 8 racing event at South Georgia Motorsports Park had somewhat of an unexpected pyro show for the crowd when an F-body Chevrolet Camaro from Texas-based custom shop Late Model Racecraft went up in flames.
The LMR Camaro was driven by Steven Fereday, who was able to walk away from the incident unscathed. The car appears to have been less fortunate; a quick-thinking spectator jumped the barrier to extinguish the blaze before the authorities could reach the car, but it was still alight for a good 40 seconds. That’s plenty enough time for some major damage to occur. We here at GM Authority would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to LMR, although we’re sure they’ll come back with an even quicker Camaro should they choose to rectify the flame-battered hot rod.
