In this ride-along video, you’ll get to hear John Hennessey‘s thoughts as he pilots the HPE1000 C7 Corvette Z06 through Lonestar Motorsports Park, just outside of the Hennessey Performance Engineering workshop.
This particular HPE1000 Z06 is a customer car, and John’s putting it through a few test laps before shipping it back. He claims that, after Hennessey’s performance enhancements, this Z06 has the potential to trap “mid to high 140’s” in the quarter-mile. He also says that, from a roll, this Z06 should be able to run even with a Porsche 918, if not quicker.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, the 918 is a million-dollar hybrid supercar that can blast through a quarter-mile in less than 10 seconds.
The best part about this Corvette is that it still has a full interior, functioning A/C, and all the amenities you’d hope to find in a daily-driven sports car.
