Hot Or Not: 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE

Chevrolet surprised many by invading the Daytona International Speedway this past weekend and showing off its latest creation from the Camaro team: the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE.

And, now that we’ve had a few days to digest the shock and awe of an even more track capable Camaro variant, we’re here to ask you if you think it’s a winner or loser in the design department.

There’s not a whole lot to separate the Camaro ZL1 1LE from its ZL1 brethren. But, what is present makes the case to state this is no ordinary Camaro or Camaro ZL1.

The front fascia receives and even more aggressive front splitter, dive planes and a larger grille helps feed more air into the 6.2-liter LT4 supercharged V8 engine. Taking a cue from the regular Camaro SS 1LE is the satin gray hood, too.

At the rear, Chevrolet has smoked the taillights and placed one standard issue, massive spoiler for maximum downforce. And, although it’s not technically part of the design, the massive tires do help give the ZL1 1LE a very aggressive stance. Those rear tires are a foot long…

So, what do you think? We think the Camaro ZL1 1LE certainly carries itself as a track focused ZL1 should. But, now we want to hear from you. Vote in our poll down below.

  1. It’s ok!

Where do they find these people? To each is own.

  2. The poll was for the design. It could have been better.

I get the aero pieces are functional. It would’ve balanced the design to have even non-functional dive planes in front of the rear tires. The black panel between the exhaust tips could’ve been a sizable venturi, but I suspect the muffler may take that space.

Also, I never liked the matte hood. Though, I’ve known people that do.

  5. Im disappointed that they didn’t unveil a z28.Now there really isnt any room in the lineup for one.And what advantage does the 1le offer that the standard zl1 doesn’t have?

  6. What do you mean there is no room for a Z28?

  7. A track car with a big piece of aluminum that provides additional power until it heat soaks and becomes less efficient and more weight. This just a over price toy for track days only or the collector market. The Z28 needs to be a roadrace car that would only need a bolt in cage, race slicks, and vin so you could go run Daytona or sebring aka real road racing and then put a plate on it and drive it home. Now that would be a cool car.

  8. If it come with the wing, I am sold. A car with a factory massive classless wing is a win for me, as long as it backes it up with performance. I love the superbird, and own an 04 Subaru STi, just for that reason…
