Earlier today, we provided a very good tip with video evidence: don’t drive a 6,000-pound vehicle on ice.
Dan Hill was driving across frozen Lake Michigan when the ice gave way and sunk his Cadillac Escalade EXT. Thankfully, he got out in time before the Escalade was completely under water. But, it was reunion time for Hill and Don Herman, the man who pulled his Escalade EXT from the frigid waters.
Inside Edition reunited Hill, the driver, and Herman, owner of a local salvage company who responded to the sunken Cadillac.
“I’ve never pulled out a Cadillac Escalade,” Herman said. “That was a first.”
Both men seem to have a chuckle about the incident as they look back on it, and Herman goes on to say everyone who has a vehicle sink gets a free hat from his salvage company.
That’s a better consolation prize than nothing, we suppose.

Mr. Herman reportedly explained to Mr. Hill that ‘Dare Greatly’ was an advertising metaphor for Cadillac, not something to be taken literally. Witnesses say Mr. Hill seemed to understand.
OMG this is bad
