I suspect the C8 talk has got many waiting to see what is coming. Once they know the plans they will make their moves.
Let’s face it many do not want to buy a C7 now and find out they could have had a C8.
Or they will find the cheaper C8 will not be out for a couple more years and they go for the C7
At first I thought the sales drop was obviously because Scott3 told everyone the new mid-enginer was a Corvette not a Caddy, and buyers wanted to wait.
But then I drove through all this bad weather we’ve had over the last month. Weeks and weeks of rain and snow leading to flooded roads, icy roads, aqua planing roads.
My Scion FR-S, with its puny little 215/45-R17’s, scythed through the chaos. No aqua planing! Lightweight and perfect balance made it so easy to correct any slides. No overtorqued straight-line loses. Toyota/Subaru build quality and rustproofing kept any long-term durability issues out of mind. No leaky targa-top or convertible soft-top.
During these flooded road times, I drove past many Corvettes and Camaros on big wiiiiide tires going slower than Priuses. Not one Corvette drove past me (I wasn’t faster than the posted limits).
Corvette: your fair-weather-friend…
