We were graced with the prospect of a Corvette shooting brake by Callaway years ago when the performance house whetted our palettes nearly four years ago. We’re delighted to report the C7 Corvette is not vaporware. It’s real, it looks stunning and here are photos of it in the flesh.
The Callaway Corvette AeroWagen was recently out filming for a Mothers advertisement at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway and the shooting brake looks identical to what we saw from renderings years ago. That’s a very, very good thing in our eyes.
The elongated roof ditches the factory rear window and rakes to become a sexy, edgy tailgate with “AeroWagen” script present on the side. Callaway will convert a C7 Corvette into an Aerowagon for the price of $14,990. But, if the customer wants the final product to match the factory color, that will be an additional $2,980. The aero spoiler is also an optional $1,995.
The Callaway Corvette AeroWagen is said to be readying for a debut at the National Corvette Museum yearly Bash which takes place between April 27 and April 29. In the meantime, gush over these photos as we are.

eeeeeeeeee-bad idea.
I love how this was panned four years ago, and everyone loves it now. Since GM wanted Shooting Brake accessories for the Solstice and Sky (to the point of EDAG building a dozen prototypes – now in the hands of the community), I’m all for this.
Just be careful using it. Objects behind you can kill when they fly forward in a rear-end collision. This is why the EDAG hardtop for Kappa never went forward. It’s also why the Solstice Coupe only has tiny storage cubbies.
yuch yuch yuch. and no visabilty
Looks like it has black band-aides stuck all over it and the rear end treatment is straight out of Yokohama. I guess they’re looking to please the Millennials, but I’m not big on the C7 at all.
I have to say looks much better then most mods that usually wreck the look. It’s not for me. $3k for matching paint and 2k for the spoiler is a total rip off. Total cost to them is probably $300
is this the bowling green massacre kellyanne conway spoke of?
Reminds me of the AMC Gremlin; this author probably thought Pontiac’s Aztek looked great.
If this is how the car came out of the factory, I would think engineers got sloppy or ran out of time to properly finish the rear end.
Now, if I were to design a new trunk lid, I would make the rear window steaper (more verticle), and add the wing on the top of the rear window, kind of like a roof wing, and extend the rear quarter panel side window further back (make it longer for better functionality and visibility).
I would only consider this raised roof design if this car came with a 2+2 seating arrangement. It’s the only way to destoy a perfect sleek design and get away with it!
