Buick U.S. Sales Up 2.8 Percent To 21,288 Units In December 2016

Sales of GM’s premium brand, Buick, increased 2.8 percent in the United States and decreased 4.43 percent in Canada in December 2016.

December 2016 Buick Sales – United States

In the United States, cumulative Buick sales increased 2.8 percent to 21,288 units in December.

December 2016 Buick retail sales decreased a slight 0.6 percent, or 115 units, year-over-year to 18,873 units, representing 88.7 percent of total Buick sales. That compares to 18,988 retail sales in December 2015, which represented 91.7 percent of total Buick sales.

December 2016 Buick fleet sales increased a substantial 40.4 percent, or 695 units, year-over-year to 2,415 units, representing 11.3 percent of total Buick sales for the month. That compares to 1,720 fleet sales in December 2015, which represented 8.3 percent of total Buick sales for the month.

  1. Congratulations Buick!
    They are the only GM division to show a year over year increase in sales volume.
    That should continue for 2017 due to more inventories of Lacrosse, Acadia and Envision.

  2. I thought GM not even 2 weeks ago said they wouldn’t be selling as many vehicles to the fleet .
    First we see GMC with sales down with higher fleet sales and now Buick .
    Is this their way of clearing out the high inventory levels . This is the old GM way of thinking .
    Canada seems to be in a big slow down .

    1. Not sure of your point here.
      First. Fleet sales were up only 695 units compared with december 2015 and is insignificant compared to the 21000+units sold overall
      Second. GM Canada is up almost 15% year over year and that is without having the Cascada available for sale in that market.
      So not bad.
      Take the Cascada out of the U.S. sales total and Buick would have negative sales year over year.
