That is pretty much on target for what they expected to sell.
I do not see the current version of the Cascada being around in 2 years.
The interior especially needs an update.
It will be interesting how the Cascada vehicle line is handled for Opel-Vauxhall and Buick. Even in its current form (interior gripes from non-owners included), the vehicle is solid and occupies that white-space niche Buick likes to talk about.
Though it didn’t take much to bring it to market, it is a limited-volume product and even the investment to produce it in Gliwice will take some time to recoup. So with that in mind, the Delta 2-based Cascada might be around for a while… with an MCE sooner rather than later. To me, the more pertinent question is whether the Cascada will live on as a D2 vehicle…
Got one of the 7,153 for my wife. No regrets. We are very pleased with this car. Can’t wait for spring to get that top back down.
Sales still look flat as it makes you wonder whether the Cascada would have done better if it was a 2-door convertible variant of the Chevy Cruze and market the 200 hp turbocharged 1.6L DOHC-4v 4-cyl engine as the SS with the 153 hp as being the base standard engine.
Due to the extremely low volume it makes more sense to lightly modify an existing convertible for a different market especially when Buick was not sure how the reaction was going to be.
Just bought the blue . Great ride . Sleek and many positive comments. Just 2 things. Find a way to secure the seat belts. Flap in the wind when the tops down. No passenger. Obviously do the same on drivers side. Also, find a way to lock the section that lowers the windows where the tab is to raise and lower the top. Otherwise love the car and give a very smooth ride. Thank you . Just wanted to mention those 2 nitchy items.
Mattie – Agree with your comments about the “flapping” seatbelts. As for your”lock” comment, if you are referring to the fact that you cannot lock the center console box (or the glove box), I agree with that as well. It would be nice to be able to secure these areas during top-down parking. We are completing our second summer with our ’16 Cascada and are very happy with it. Great little summer car that also handles winters pretty well. My wife loves this car!
