Action Express Fastest Of Cadillac Teams At Roar Before The 24

The No. 5 Action Express Mustang Sampling Cadillac DPi-V.R was the fastest of the three Cadillac prototypes on track during this past weekend’s Roar Before the 24 practice session for the 2017 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Joao Barbosa set the pace in the No. 5 car with a lap of 1:38.693 in the final practice session, making it the third fastest Prototype of the test .Barbosa will share the entry with Christian Fittipaldi and Filipe Albuquerque at Daytona later this month.
The No. 31 Whelen Engineering sister car, piloted by Dane Cameron, Eric Curran, Mike Conway and Sebastian Morris was the second fastest Cadillac and the fifth fastest Prototype entry with a time of 1:38.902.
The slowest of the Cadillacs was the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Konica Minolta car of Jordan and Ricky Taylor, Max Angelelli and four-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Jeff Gordon. It set a fastest lap of 1:38.951 to become the sixth fastest Prototype in the test.
The fastest Prototype on track was the No. 81 Gibson Oreca of Dragonspeed Racing, which set a time of 1:38.343. The No. 55 Mazda RT24-P was second fastest with a time of 1:38.363.
The 2017 Rolex 24 At Daytona will kick off at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 28th. Pre-race coverage will begin on FOX at 2:00 p.m., with the network carrying the first two hours of the race before it switches over to FOX Sports 2 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and from 11:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Coverage of the race on Sunday, January 29th will begin on FOX Sports 1 at 12:30 a.m. and carry through to the end of the race.
