General Motors is recalling certain units of the 2016 Buick Envision over an issue with the vehicle’s braking system.
The defect: the master cylinder brake lines may crack and leak brake fluid.
The hazards: if there is a loss of brake fluid, braking performance may be reduced or lost, increasing the risk of a crash.
Affected vehicles: 2016 Buick Envision manufactured January 19, 2016, to March 18, 2016.
Number of vehicles affected: 327 vehicles (United States figure).
The fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the master cylinder brake lines, free of charge.

Here come all the comments about how the Envision being assembled in China is the cause for this…
Well, to be fair, when was the last time you heard of brake lines cracking on a brand new car? Of course cheap low end suppliers are the cause of this.

While it’s not the exact same situation it still was a recall on a new car and I even found another recall for VW for brake issues. Point being no matter where it’s assembled there is going to be issues. But since this car is assembled in China people like to make a big deal out of it.
GM building cars in China will affect my future buying practices.
This car is built in china FOR the Chinese market. Buick is a luxury car there buick sells over 2 million car there in the usa maybe 200 thousand. This model gm expect s to sell maybe 30 thousand of this model here in the us.
Buick sold 223,055 vehicles in 2015 and 229,631 in 2016. For the 8 months of 2016 the Envision count was 14,193 units, a projected 21,290 of them. Still wouldn’t buy an envision at 99% Chinese content. There are other cars in this class that are better alternatives.
I’ve actually test drove this car and is on my short list to buy really no domestic car in this glass can touch this price point and level of refinement
Really Jamis? Which cars are better alternatives *in the class of the Envision”?
I have friends and relatives that work in the OEM auto supply industry. Just ask any of them about Chinese (Indian & Mexican) supplied parts and get ready for a dissertation on what lack of quality control means. 20% to 50% rejection rates are common, if their employer is checking. Would never consider an Envision as a buy. Wait until Trump finds out about this vehicle.
Your so wrong! If you knew anything about manufacturing this happens everywhere look at the new f150 recalled 22 times! This car has a higher qualty rating on consumer report than most other cars of this type. F150 the Pride of america! Just lost quality rating and recommend buy rating from consumer report. P.s. trump a piece of crap! Not this car
Well, the F150 has a 70% domestic content, which means that 30% of the vehicle is made outside of The U.S. or CA. Who’s doing the QC on that 30%? A lot of those non-domestic parts came from the aforementioned countries. My Son works for a Tier1 company that supplies Ford, FCA, GM and Toyota. Lots of component parts from outside the country due to price pressure from the customer. Also, the F150 sold 820,799 in 2016, while the Envision did 14,163 in 2016. Easy to have more recalls, TSBs, NHSTA complaints on the FISO. Let’s give the Envision some time to prove it’s build quality.
First year production for the 2016 Ford truck. Always lots of issues with an all new model.
First year building this for the us market 1recall compared to 22 for ford
makes no difference how many are sold 20 thousand 200 thousand thats still 21 more times that ford failed makes no difference were that part is made . All people see is they have to take that truck back in for a repair. I work for a tier 1 supplier also i know what goes on all the time believe me American made product’s are no better or worse than other vehicles. I don’t own any cars made in the us have a buick made in south Korea hade to take back twice 1) wrong sticker for tires on the door 2) soft ware update for air bags. Second car is a dodge journey made in mexico that has a lot of engineering problems under powered brake systems etc.etc. but this car is a 2009 journey first year they were made. So don’t be so quick to bash foreign made made cars or trucks. They can be just as good or as bad as us made vehicles
This car is also the perfect anti trump car made in CHINA!! New # help a trump supporter lose his job boycott American made products pass it on!
