Upcoming Buick GL6 MPV Spied In China

Following the introduction of the Buick GL8 for the Chinese market, it seems there will be another smaller MPV heading to Buick’s portfolio.
The Buick GL6, as it has been dubbed, is said to be readying for a Shanghai Auto Show debut this coming April and will sit below the GL8 in size. Seating configuration is said to be 2-3-2.
The spy shots show the GL6 testing with a Volkswagen Touran, a popular MPV vehicle in the country. Interestingly, the Touran is manufactured via a VW-SAIC joint venture in the country, the same Chinese-owned partner General Motors works with. While platform sharing is unlikely, GM could be benchmarking the Touran for the Buick GL6.
As for what the GL6 is based upon, it’s likely an Opel Zafira underneath all the camouflage, possibly an older Zafira variant than the most recently revealed Opel MPV.
