It’s happy ending for a sad, 40-year-long story. A 1964 C2 Corvette that was stolen in 1976 has been recovered and returned to the rightful owner after four decades.
Motor Authority reports Modesto Fleming purchased the white Corvette in Anaheim, California and it was stolen from her in 1976. Since then, she had practically given up hope of seeing her car ever again. However, incorrect tags tipped the investigation.
The man driving the 1964 Corvette purchased the vehicle from now defunct car lot in 1984, not knowing the car had been stolen years earlier. Modesto has regained rightful ownership of the vehicle, but now, the previous “owner” is left without a gorgeous Corvette after being duped decades ago into buying the stolen vehicle.
We’re just glad the rightful owner has her pride and joy back.
