It’s never easy to get your hands on a true race car, but this replica may do the trick. No, it doesn’t house the heritage a real example would, but this Corvette GTP racer for sale in Florida looks pretty darn good.
Mongoose Motorsports reportedly received the original body panel molds and used portions of a C5 Corvette to recreate the 1984-1988 racers used in the IMSA series and Le Mans.
The replica does not offer the same 3.4-liter turbocharged V6, but instead, a 383 stroker small-block V8 engine and a Porsche five-speed transaxle are present. It even has air conditioning to make things a little more daily drivable.
Rich Blue Metallic paint with Grand Sport inspired red and white trim is present, while the interior features red leather seats and dashboard, as well as a DigiDash2 programmable instrumentation unit and racing harnesses.
The Corvette GTP replica is currently for sale with a price tag of $109,500 and carries just 1,600 miles on the odometer. You can find more information on the vehicle right here.
