Regular Car Reviews Gets Australian With The 2012 Chevrolet Caprice PPV: Video

A lot of what is said in this episode of Regular Car Reviews is very true. I can attest to it because, well, I owned a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. You don’t buy a Chevrolet Caprice PPV because it’s the best deal out there, you buy one because it’s different. Like, the same way people buy old Saab wagons. It’s different.

The Caprice PPV hasn’t caught on quite like Chevrolet likely thought it would, and it’s been bested in nearly every police vehicle comparison test by the Ford Taurus interceptor. It doesn’t help that most departments have taken a liking to crossovers and SUVs, which means the Ford Explorer has become the new defacto headlights to memorize while driving about.

But, the Caprice PPV is one of four Holden vehicles to ever make its way to the United States. The Pontiac GTO, Pontiac G8 and Chevrolet SS round out the other options if you want a car with a “6” at the beginning of its VIN.

So, yes, it’s a cool car to own. But, buyers beware, the story about AutoZone, which you’ll hear at the beginning of this episode, is indeed a real thing.

  1. This car is called a Caprice because in Australia it was a long wheel base Luxury cruiser.
Most recent till now in 2017 there was the Statsman discontinued 2007 poverty pack and the top of the line Caprice that all the well to do such as the politicians would be chauffeured about in. The car continues this year till October with very high end short wheelbase Sedan and Sports Waggon VF series II versions in V6 and up spec V8, with very high performance over 300kw with turbocharged engines, absolutely hipo. You could deck out the PPV with all the Holden gear with head up display smart phone stereo, euro head lights etc and look fresh as a newly released model.
