Late Model Racecraft continues to carve out its own niche in the aftermarket industry by showcasing its builds on the dyno and drag strip, and yielding impressive results. Today’s video features a Corvette C7 Z06 equipped with the LMR800 package at the track, which LRM claims can run the quarter-mile in 9.8 seconds.
Compared to rival tuning companies, LMR’s 9.8-second C7 Z06 was faster than a Hennessey HPE850, which can run the quarter at 10.3 seconds. And while the LPE800 package doesn’t have an official time listed, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering officials have been quoted in saying that the LPE800 Z06 would “easily be a 10.5-second car with slicks.” The LMR800 C7 Z06 also topped the Vengeance Racing C7 Z06, which ran a 10.2, and the Callaway SC757, which ran a 10.5. Then again, there were reports of a “completely stock” Corvette C7 Z06 running the quarter-mile in just 10.41 seconds as well as videos of FBO (full bolt-on) Z06 Corvettes running faster times than the LMR800, just to thicken the plot.
Now, there are other factors to take into consideration, of course, such as the overall quality of components, warranties, price, or any other criteria a consumer might care about. But when it comes to empirical data, LMR seems to be winning the fight.
