When it comes to parking a massive truck like the 2017 GMC Sierra, we can only be thankful for innovations like parking assist.
In the 2017 Sierra, sensors are equipped at both the front and rear of the vehicle to help the driver when maneuvering around parking spaces. In addition to the sensors, displays and chimes also alert the driver to their surrounding area via the driver information center and on the rear backup camera display.
When the Sierra is put into reverse, the sensors in both the front and rear automatically become active. However, once shifted into drive, the front sensors remain active in the front until the vehicle surpasses 5 mph.
It’s one of the small conveniences we take for granted today. Remember when you and only you were responsible for maneuvering a vehicle about?
