As we reported yesterday, Holden is indeed readying three limited edition, send-off VF Commodore Series II for the 2017 model year. The brand has launched an official microsite for potential buyers to express interest in the three unnamed vehicles.
The site simply reads, “Three exclusive limited edition models, passionately engineered for premier performance.” From the photo, we can see the hood vent of a VF Commodore Series II as well as a black alloy wheel with red striping. The lower bumper also features red pinstriping in the photo as well.
We know each of these special edition Commodores will be based on the range-topping SSV Redline, which features the 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine and either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
As far as what each edition could be named, it’s anyone’s guess. However, our original intel points to a Motorsports edition, Director and Commemorative edition, each with unique design cues and features to mark the end of Australian manufacturing for the brand. The Magnum name may also be used for a limited edition SSV Redline ute.
Holden will reveal each limited edition Commodore in January for the final model year of the locally-assembled sedan.
