There will no longer be a GMC parked in the HGTV Dream Home’s garage. Honda has announced it will take the reigns from GMC for the first time.
Motor1 reports the southern-style dream home, situated in Simons Island, Georgia, will instead feature a brand new Honda Pilot. Previously, GMC supplied a GMC Acadia for the giveaway.
“Creating big dreams for our customers is at the core of the Honda brand and combining our Honda Pilot, the ultimate modern family SUV with the ultimate dream home from HGTV, makes for an impactful partnership and one incredible prize package for one lucky family,” said Susie Rossick, assistant vice-president of Honda Auto marketing.
This year marks the 21st anniversary of the giveaway, which sees one lucky winner take the home and vehicle, while one other lucky winner receives $250,000 cash.

“Replacing apples for oranges”. That is what HGTV did when replacing the superb GMC Acadia for a measly Honda Pilot. Honda must have given HGTV much cash to sponsor the show and given out several Pilots to the producers, too.
Many of the other show about home repairs and upgrades have the MCs driving GM vehicles. One great example is Mike Holmes, who drives Chevys, and who gave away a black Silverado to his son on one of the programs.
