General Motors U.S. Sales Up 10 Percent To 252,644 Units In November 2016

Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac dealers in the United States delivered 252,644 new vehicles in November 2016, a 10.2 percent increase compared to November 2015. Sales of all four GM U.S. brands — Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and GMC — increased on a year-over-year basis, outperforming the industry during the month.

Of equal importance is that The General sold 197,609 vehicles in November to individual or “retail” customers in the U.S., an increase of 7.9 percent from November 2015. Based on initial estimates, GM outperformed all full-line manufacturers, led by strong retail sales at Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac, driving GM’s retail share to its highest November level since 2009.

“GM’s November performance reflects the continued strength of our U.S. business.  We gained profitable retail share, commercial and small business deliveries were strong and we commanded the industry’s best average transaction prices,” said Kurt McNeil, GM’s vice president of U.S. Sales Operations. “We are ahead of plan selling down our 2016 model year inventory and we expect to close out December with more retail share growth. GM is heading into 2017 in a position of strength with the planned launch of key new products, like the all-new Chevrolet Equinox, into the heart of the market.”

GM continues to benefit from a strong U.S. economy and strong retail demand for its products.

“All economic indicators show significantly improved optimism about the U.S. economy including consumer and business sentiment, which continue to drive a very healthy U.S. auto industry,” said Mustafa Mohatarem, GM’s chief economist. “We believe the U.S. auto industry is well-positioned for sales to continue at or near record levels into 2017.”

  1. Guess GM design of the 2016-2017 Camaro, will be a FLOP, They did not listen to AMERICA, GM thinks they know what is best for us, However, sales prove them wrong on the CAMARO. GM, bring back the NON EUROPEAN looking CAMARO. America want the real CAMARO.

    1. I think you’re going to win the “dumbest comment of the month” award.

Reasons for slightly lower sales volume of the Gen Six Camaro have been well documented (higher price and a decrease in the popularity of the segment being the biggest ones). Very little to do with reasons related to product.

As for the European vs. American references… I don’t even know where to start. Seems like you’re trolling. Are you?

  2. 2017 you will see a further decline in the EUROPEAN CAMARO . But used 2010 to 2015 will be in demand.
2016 showed even with deep discounts on the EUROPEAN CAMARO , Not many are interested. Bring back the AMERICAN CAMARO.
