First 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Delivered To Callaway For Modifications

Callaway fans, rejoice. The latest from the performance house is well underway with the Callaway SC740 package for the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
However, you may be seeing a name change for the package. Callaway calls the package the “SC740” because it expects a 100 hp gain over the Camaro ZL1’s factory output. Except, this was when Chevrolet estimated the ZL1 would only produce 640 hp. As we know, that figure is officially 650 hp.
Callaway says it is retaining its goal for a 100 hp gain over factory output, which means we could potentially see a 750 hp Callaway Camaro ZL1. For some comparison, Callaway massaged 107 additional ponies out of the C7 Corvette Z06 for a total of 757 hp and 127 additional units of twist at 777 lb-ft or torque.
Propelling the Callaway Camaro ZL1 will be the performance house’s GenThree supercharger, which carries a 32 percent greater displacement than the stock unit found in the Camaro ZL1. Of course, expect the usual suite of Callaway goodies, too, including badging inside and out and powertrain warranty coverage as well.
The first 2017 Camaro ZL1 is headed to the division’s outpost in Old Lyme, Connecticut, where the transformation will begin.
