A familiar name will be supplying the class-exclusive electronic locking differentials for the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. The ELocker differentials will be supplied by power management company Eaton.
The 2017 Colorado ZR2 will feature the electronic locking differentials at both the front and rear axles to help with superb off-road performance. With the touch of a button, the ELockers can prevent a single wheel from spinning via an electromagnet to lock the differential where needed.
We had a chance to experience how these ELockers work in their designated conditions during our first ride along in the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. Engineers liked to explain the ELockers help the ZR2 perform “one-armed pull-ups.”
The ELockers will be merely a small piece of the overall puzzle that constructs the ZR2’s off-road prowess. We can’t wait to really sample what the truck is capable of.

Will it actually work? Canyon / Colorado are the least reliable trucks in the class. MT’s long term Colorado came with a non functioning stability control switch and it showed “GMC” on the center display, haha.
