Hot on the heels of the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS NHRA Pro Stock car debut has come the unveiling of a second Team Chevy drag racer: Courtney Force’s new-look Advance Auto Parts 2017 Camaro SS Funny Car.
Force and her John Force Racing crew debuted the all-new racecar during a special media event last week. In addition to showing off the new-look car for the first time, she also announced a multi-year sponsorship deal with Advance Auto Parts that will see the company’s logo serve as the primary sponsor on the Camaro.
“I am thrilled to be driving the Advance Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car starting in 2017,” said Force, who the winningest female Funny Car driver in NHA history. “Last season, we made some big strides toward our first championship and I am very confident in my team led by my crew chiefs, Dan Hood and Ronnie Thompson, and that next season can be even better. I love the look of this red, yellow and black Camaro and I can’t wait to get it into the winner’s circle.”
Advance Auto Parts served as a sponsor on John Force’s PEAK Camaro Funny Car in select NHRA events last year and this year decided to expand the relationship with the new multi-year deal. The company says it has sponsored drivers in a variety of North American motorsports series important to its customers including NHRA, NASCAR, IndyCar and Monster Jam.
The 2017 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series will kick off with the Circle K NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, California in early February.
