Chevrolet had quite the surprise for Wreaths Across America during the 117th Army-Navy game as it presented the organization a Chevrolet Silverado HD and a 40-foot trailer for continued support to the organization.
Wreaths Across America founder, Morrill Worcester, accepted the Silverado HD from former General Motors CEO, Dan Akerson, along with the brand’s commitment to continue honoring fallen veterans.
“It is so important that we never forget the sacrifice that our military families make to ensure the safety and security of our country,” said Akerson. “Helping Wreaths Across America honor our fallen soldiers demonstrates in a small but powerful way the gratitude that the entire Chevrolet and GM family has for their service and their sacrifice.”
But, Chevrolet had one last surprise. The brand handed the keys to a Chevrolet Silverado Special Ops edition to one of the group’s most dedicated volunteers, Gold Star Parent Scott Harris, for his loyalty and commitment to the organization.
A fleet of Chevrolet Tahoes and a Chevrolet Camaro will travel across the United States to deliver wreaths to the graves of fallen veterans. Along the way, Chevrolet will donate and supply 17,000 wreaths to the organization.
