Chevrolet may have missed a key opportunity with Steve “The Woz” Wozniak. It seems the Apple co-founder has chosen another Tesla over a new 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV.
Earlier this year, Wozniak stated he would likely be “switching cars soon” after getting a look at the new Bolt EV. However, Motor1 reports Wozniak and his wife chose another Tesla Model S, per a personal Facebook post.
It doesn’t seem Wozniak is quite over the Bolt EV, though. He went on to say he’s still thinking about picking up a 2017 Bolt EV as a daily driver. But, he remains concerned over a charging network that is still much in its infancy.
“I’m still considering the Bolt. It had a lot of things nicer about it than the Tesla,” Wozniak stated. “But I’m concerned about how it would work on our favored road trips. So far, Tesla’s the only game in town for that.”
In the meantime, Chevrolet and General Motors have delivered the first Bolt EVs to customers in California, as it promised at the beginning of 2016.

I live in Mich. Where is my Bolt??? GM
How will it perform at -45 in Winnipeg Manitoba on a clear day in January? (-70 with the wind factor) It’s wonderful as there isn’t a mosquitoe in sight. Lol
Wozniak is your typical Democrat.. a natural born liar who will say just about anything to get a few minutes of attention.
Yup, but the DemocRATS have been totally decimated politically and might not be around very soon (or at least powerless for at least a generation). So not so worried…their whining and crying about Trump shows how desperate they are and last gasps of breath…And to rub it in,Trump just won the Electoral College and Clinton lost even more! No one took the Dem death threats seriously. Haha!
We can finally move on…
How do you figure?
You are talking about the guy who co-founded Apple, and admits to carrying an Android phone.
The guy is the definition of honesty and transparency.
I’d LOVE to see evidence to the contrary.
Sadly (and predictably) I think it’s unfortunate foreshadowing of our future, since people like yourself, who “if I say it, it must be true”, regardless of how false it is – let your imagination and emotion define some personal bubble-world reality that has real consequences on the actual real world.
That’s not simply ignorant arrogance – it’s dangerous.
As we’re now poised to see first hand.
Buckle up, and take note –
It won’t take many botched executive actions for the majority to become quite angry with people just like you, so you might want to pipe down about your support – particularly in comments threads that have nothing to do with politics. People are free to buy what they like – GM needs to make it good, make it competitive for people to buy it – this isn’t Soviet Russia where Putin tells you what to drive.
…yet.
Steve Wozniak has never been about style or luxury, and neither has Chevrolet.
Should be a match made in heaven.
But even they bought a Tesla.
That means something, GM.
I’m surely speaking amid a group of preconceived Chevy fans, but hear me out:
Chevrolet is doing the same-old, same as usual disservice to the current cloud of “economical cars” that it always has (read: those cars with lower profit margins), giving them styling that paints them as penalty boxes to encourage people to buy their more expensive, more upscale cars.
This car could be (and maybe is) packed with technology that no one can touch until 2030, but if it still looks like it was styled by the same team who did the point-and-chuckle penalty-box Chevy Aveo, people won’t want it.
It WOULD take an exceptional introvert who is also blind to style to ignore that, and want one.
And Chevy isn’t the only company to adopt that strategy, of course…
…which is exactly why Tesla, choosing to make their eco-cars sexy and prestigious, is winning.
Their cars are desirable BECAUSE they are desirable – and happen to have advanced eco technology, also.
Chevy needs to get to the same place.
