Apart from going to the dealership and seeing one for yourself, there may not be a better option than this “unboxing” video you see above. Taking its title from popular unboxing videos for an assortment of products, this video goes over the ins and outs of the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD LTZ Crew Cab.
We like the video because it’s a very impartial look at the 2017 Silverado, merely giving you a feel for what to expect upon sitting inside one before you take the truck home. However, you can find an opinion on the truck towards the end of the video.
We liked the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 when it was given a once over for 2016 and found the new eight-speed automatic to be an excellent improvement to the overall driving experience of the Silverado.
But go ahead and grab an in-depth look of the 2017 Silverado right up above.

Nice overall video explaining the 2017 Silverado. Have you done any road testing especially at 50mph or higher? That’s where my 2015 Silverado vibrates horribly. After 5 dealer trips, GM bought it back and put me into a 17 High Country which is a vast improvement. Curious to see what you find on road testing the 17 Silverado.
Thanks.
I work at a store and have experienced the same thing with some of our customers. GM has bought back 3 at our store. They are baffled about the cause. Tires changed, wheels changed, drive shaft changed and nothing works
After going through all the “protocols” GM set, still had no resolve to vibration. Service manager states ” it’s in the design of the truck”. Think they’ll ever figure that out when they’re selling like hot cakes of the griddle?
It’s the design. Probably a probably a result of the effort to reduce weight through mixed materials
However, I must admit that my 2017 Silverado High Country doesn’t have a sever vibration, just a very small noticeable at 60mph. This truck is much more pleasing and joyful to drive.
I read an article written by Consumer Reports that stated that this type of high line trucks are really driving the market right now . Sales of Sierra Denali’s ,LTZ ; s and Fords trucks are all being sold with all the toys . These are the big cars of decades ago and do wonders to the bottom line at GM .
I drive this exact truck (but 2014 MY with only 12,000 easy miles) as a Company truck. I’ve also personally owned Ford and GM trucks since 1981.
I’ve always found Ford trucks as the better truck / value.
Imagine my current LTZ Crew Cab Company Truck does not have rear A/C…surely an unneeded cost cutting measure on a truck that cost $50,000 and provides GM huge profits! My 2002 Ext Cab Silverado had rear A/C??
Sorry but if it was my money I’d buy the Ford!
I’m still driving my 2005 GMC SLT xcab, waiting for GM to put AC vents in the rear or Ford to put a bigger V8 in the F 150! Hope GM makes a move!
I hear you. One or the other.
For the use my truck gets I’m fine with power of either GM or Ford. The GM 6 speed is jerky sometimes at low speeds though.
I understand manufacturers need to make money…but eliminating rear ac on a top tier Crew Cab is just wrong, and insulting to buyers/drivers/passengers.
Stick to writing, your voice review is awkward at best. This truck is dependable as hell and working at a GM dealership I can attest to that. Very few issues from my customers and overall as a tech I would buy one mind you the money techs get paid.
I have love Silverado all my life why does Chevy let Ford stomp all over them
Love the looks, ‘cept for that god awful ugly hood. It’s actually the only reason I didn’t buy this year. Hopefully the next re-design will be better. Maybe just use the HD hood…That would be cool.
