Vauxhall Scrappage Scheme Returns To Remove Older Vehicles From UK Roads

Vauxhall has brought back what it calls its “Scrappage Scheme” in an effort to remove older, less efficient cars from UK roads. The program offers £2,000 towards the purchase of a new Vauxhall Astra, Mokka, Mokka X, GTC, new Zafira Tourer, Insignia or Cascada model.

However, Vauxhall won’t simply scrap cars for the sake of scrapping them. The brand will take caution to ensure they are disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. Even better, Vauxhall will contact local owners groups to push used parts for sale before outright scrapping cars.

Last year, Vauxhall was able to take 15,000 older, more polluting vehicles off the road and hopes to increase the number this year through responsible processes and a combination of great finance offers.

The program will run from today, November 15, 2016, until December 31, 2016.

Lot smarter then cash for clunkers program here. So many good classics were scrapped and then you couldn’t by the engines at the scrap yard.
